The Beautiful Frock

This makes me chuckle!

I was planning to send this Edward Monkton card to a friend, but each time I read it, it makes me smile so I decided to keep it!

It's funny but true. A frock alone cannot make us a beautiful and whole and complete human being. Of course not! We definitely need the shoes and the bag to go with it.

But that's not enough.

We need the right jewellery, make-up, fragrance and hair style. We need a manicure, a pedicure and a skincare regime. A frock alone will not make us beautiful.

Even if the frock is stunning, it will not make us look beautiful unless we choose the right colour, size and style. The dress should reflect our personality, lifestyle and the occasion. We should be the ones wearing the dress and not look like we are being worn by the dress.

Yet, that's not enough. We need more: the right posture, a friendly attitude and good eye contact. What else could we add? A good sense of humour, a great smile and perfect teeth?

To become a complete human being, the road is long and ever changing. How we want to achieve this is up to each individual, but we must first be clear in our minds how we want to project ourselves. How we dress should always reflect who and what we are.

A beautiful frock is a beautiful frock. We shouldn't rely on the frock alone for our own unique beauty.
