Linley Coffee Table to be sold at Christie's on 2 July 2013

Linley, a bespoke English furniture maker, was founded in 1985 by David Linley, who is also the son of Princess Margaret.

It's the beginning of a New Year and a great time to reassess and move into a new, positive and fulfilling phase. Talking Image can inspire you to make a start on that journey by using your handwriting as a springboard to analyse your life.

Joint Workshop in Japan - March 2012

Toshiko ran joint workshops in Japan with Masako Inoue of The Bouquet. The workshops covered topics on how to balance your proportion, particularly giving tips on how to dress on holidays, dress codes and manners that must not be ignored. Spring/Summer 2012 fashion trend was also covered, just so that the participants can be up-to-date with the trend, and if they wished, they can choose to add a few new ideas into their existing wardrobe.

We will be holding more joint workshops in the Autumn when Toshiko visits Japan again.

London is busy preparing for the Olympics. It starts on 27 July 2012. You may think we still have another year, but time does fly, it's only around the corner! The Olympics will be held in London where Talking Image is based. Superdry - Born in Britian with a Japanese Twist

"I remember walking passed Superdry's first store in Covent Garden in 2004. Looking at the Japanese phrase that was written above 'Superdry', I wondered why on earth this logo 'demanded' you to Superdry? It is written in a command tense. This translation of 'Superdry' is understandable but the word is not commonly used in Japan, so I couldn't make out which country this brand originated from. Over the years, with David Beckham seen wearing their Osaka T-shirt and Brad leather jacket, also worn by other celebrities like Justin Bieber and Josh Duhamel, this street-style, urban-cool British retail brand has since grown strength to strength. It is now sold in over 20 countries across four continents. It is amazing to find so many people wearing this brand now.

Based on the urban-cool look and the price, Superdry exceeds Gap or Uniqlo. It does not exude the level of sex appeal that Abercrombie & Fitch has, but compared to Jack Wills, Superdry targets a wider age range, even for a slightly older generation.

Interestingly, this British-born brand that uses Japanese in their logo is not yet sold in Japan. If you say Superdry to the Japanese, they will instantly think of a beer brand, Asahi Superdry." (Toshiko, May 2011)

I'm Ted Baker!

My client and I had the previlege to bump into Mr "Ted Baker" when we were shopping for my client's Ted Baker coat in Selfridges. He introduced himself as "Ted Baker", who is actually Ray Kelvin, founder and CEO of the global brand, Ted Baker. I must say that Ray and Chris Browne, his Retail Director were both extremely friendly. As you may know, Ted Baker clothes are made of outstanding quality with a twist to the fabric and detail, which adds style and fun to the whole look. Obviously, my client loved the coat and purchased it! (December 2010) 

New Talking Image Studio has opened 

The new Talking Image Studio has now opened. Easy access from Bermondsey or London Bridge tube station, it is located in the heart of London, only a stone's throw away from Tower Bridge, Bermondsey Street where small cafes and restaurants are buzzing and Bermondsey Square where the antiques market is held every Friday.

We would like to welcome you to our new Studio, providing you with a relaxed, inviting ambience, in the hope that this will be the first step to opening many doors to a happier, more confidence and stylish you. (July 2010)

We are pleased to announce that Talking Image now works with CorperIDeas Styling Tool, a "top to toe" and "easy fitting" formula for a clearer understanding of the theory in styling and clothing line. These styling pieces are used during the image consultations and image consultancy training courses, helping clients and trainees to immediately visualise what works and what doesn't for your body line and proportion.

Because You're Worth It!

As part of our annual charity event, Talking Image consultants visited Beechfield, a caring home in Weybridge. We analysed the best colour shades for everyone and even had a make-up session. We enjoyed the afternoon as much as the ladies. Age does not stop us from looking and feeling good, because we're all worth it!
