 “I'm not buying anything unless it absolutely fits me!”

Is this asking too much? Not at all! What you wear should be something you love and must suit your body and style. Why would you want to settle for less?

That's easy to say, you might think, but in reality it’s a nightmare. The shops have only the colours that are "in" this season. You might find that the clothes they sell off the peg are always too long or short for your arms or legs. Perhaps you can never find a pair of trousers that fits both your hips and your thighs.

We are all so different, we can't possibly fit perfectly into every item of clothing we find. Jacket sleeves that cover your hands will make your arms look shorter. Trouser pockets that gape will emphasize the size of your hips. If you really like something, you need to have it altered to fit perfectly. Otherwise, don't buy it!

I have come across so many clients who wish they could find a pair of jeans that would fit like a second skin. Well, here's the answer: Bodymetrics. They tailor make jeans using scanning technology to ensure the perfect fit for you. The prices start from £250 and delivery takes approximately three to four weeks. The store is located on the second floor at Selfridges. It'll probably be best to book an appointment before you go.

Wigs should be tailor-made too. Whether you wear one for medical or religious reasons, or simply as a fashion statement, you do need to have it trimmed to fit your head and face shape. Otherwise, you will look like you’re wearing a hairy hat. Celebrity stylist, Trevor Sorbie appeared on five tv's The Wright Stuff demonstrating how he trims and styles wigs to make them look as if they are the wearer’s own hair.
